Laura is our Director of Courses so if there are any questions on Access, our provision, the online delivery of the courses, career advice, finance…or anything you could want to know, join this Q&A and ask anything you need to get going on your Diploma with confidence!
Session 2: Access to HE Diploma (Music Technology) with James Rycroft
Tuesday, 26th Nov – 07:00 PM
A fast paced 'tips & tricks' session on music production. Get an insight into the exciting sessions that you can experience on the Access to HE Music Tech Diploma and meet you tutor! Jim is a well experienced musician, as well as teacher, and can offer great advice and tips for the practicalities of joining such a diverse and exciting course for aspiring composers, performers, producers and general musicians!
Session 3: Access to HE Diploma - Healthcare and Sciences with Laura Watford
Wednesday, 27th Nov – 10:00 AM
Want to head into a healthcare profession? Or fancy Environmental Science? Whatever the science, we have you covered - Laura heads up the team in the Science Faculty after building the department for the past 2 years - the team cover a huge variety of subjects. Come and see their unit options in this session, as well as joining a Q&A to have all your science questions answered.
Session 4: Access to HE Diploma (Health Professionals/ Nursing/ Midwifery) with Dana Colbourne

Join us for a session dedicated to those interested in pursuing a career as a health professional. This event will provide valuable information on the pathways to becoming a nurse, dentist, midwife, doctor, physiotherapist, or any other healthcare role. Attendees will learn about the educational requirements, application processes, and hands-on training programs available. You’ll also hear from current professionals about their experiences and receive guidance on choosing the right specialism. Whether you’re just starting your journey or considering a career change, this evening will offer the insights and support you need to take the next step.
Session 5: Access to HE Diploma (Education) with Helen Reeder
Wednesday, 27th Nov – 07:30 PM
Considering a career in teaching? We will take you through the educational theories, the foundation skills that you need. In this session we will take Q&A about teaching and how you get started with us.
Session 6: Access to HE Diploma (Art & Design) with Zoe Rea
Thursday, 28th Nov – 02:00 PM
In this session, Zoe will talk through the course content, show examples of work, and do an Adobe Demo to showcase how the online platform supports our creative learners! Whichever field you are thinking of for HE, whether it be fine art, graphics, fashion, illustration, architecture…we cover what you will need to take on any field of Art and Design at HE. Come and meet your tutor and find out more.
Session 7: Access to HE Diploma (Computer Science)
Thursday, 28th Nov - 5.30 PM
Session on the practicalities of cyber security. Come and have a taster of what sorts of assignments happen within the Computer Science Diploma, and how you can expect to work within the online platform. If you’re unsure if this course is for you, or you would like to see how your units are delivered by your expert tutor Jon, come join us to learn more!
Session 8: Induction and Learning Support with Luke Eames
Thursday, 28th Nov – 06:00 PM
Q&A session on the induction process you are a part of when joining Access courses online. Luke will explore how we support students with their learning, confidence and well-being when returning to education. If you are nervous about returning to education, feel you have additional learning needs to be supported, or want to see the structure of assignments and online learning, please join us for a supportive introduction into life as an ACO student. Luke is a trained English and SEND tutor with many years experience and leads the learning and pastoral support we have at ACO.

Session 10: Access to HE Diploma (Business and Management) with Dr Sana Rehman

Join us for a Q&A session. Let’s answer the important questions such as “How do we manage this course along with a job?” and “How do you plan to study in a systematic way” but also we will cover the important points of future prospects and personal growth. Attendees can steer discussions and meet the tutor to find out anything they need to make that important step and start.
